I really don’t think there’s an overall “best” platform for SEO, but I think Shopify, WordPress and BigCommerce make it a bit easier. The reason is they all have native SEO apps specifically designed to help you improve your SEO. WordPress has Yoast which is one of the best SEO apps ever in my opinion. Shopify and BigCommerce have great selections of apps too.
For SEO in general, it all depends on how good your pages are. Things like meta descriptions, keyword research, no duplicate content, etc. are going to heavily determine if your site ranks high.
My personal SEO tip is to research a group of 3–5 related keywords you want to rank for write great long-form content with a 2,000 word minimum. Why 2,000? Every post I’ve written that’s over 2,000 words ranks on the first page for whatever keywords are mentioned in that article. It’s not the most scientific answer, but at the end of the day, I can say that I’ve beaten companies like Amazon, Microsoft, McKinsey and more just because I focused on specific keywords.
