It’s about Web browser.

Most of you already know if we open too many tabs in Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, the browsers might freeze or hang. Sometimes your Computer will freeze too. The one trick I use to avoid this is to gather all opened tabs into one list using Onetab plugin. Onetab reduces your System’s memory usage up to 95%.

To install it on your Google Chrome browser, go to Chrome Web Store, search for the Onetab plugin and install it.

On Firefox, go to Tools -> Add-ons (CTRL+SHIFT+A) from the Menu bar, search for the Onetab plugin and install it. It will take less than 5 seconds.

Usage

Onetab will be found on the top right corner of your browser window. To convert all opened tabs into a list, just click on the Onetab icon. If you want to send the currently opened tab, right click on the Onetab icon and click Onetab -> Send only this tab to Onetab option.

To access the tabs that you sent to Onetab, right click on the Onetab icon and click on Display Onetab option. You will find the list of tabs you sent to Onetab.

Here is the list of 463 tabs(!) in my Onetab plugin.

When you want to access the tabs again, you can either restore them individually or all at once.

Onetab also allows us to export the list and import them in to Firefox/Chrome and vice versa, so you don’t have to manually search and add them in Onetab. It’s not only an useful plugin, but also an essential.

Ignore if you already knew it.

À votre santé!

What If I tell you that you can track your xiaomi/mi smartphone if it ever gets lost.

So here is the trick:

When you buy a new xiaomi/mi smartphone, the phone asks you to Sign up or log in to your MI account.

After signing up / logging in, the device asks for permission to send messages to verify the inserted sims

After permission is granted the device sends sms to MI servers in order to activate and verify sim cards inserted in your device.

But after you setup device and start using it you forget everything about your mi account and it’s purpose.

If by chance you lose your phone or it gets stolen. You just file a complain and keeps cursing yourself.

Mais

But if you would have paid attention at the time of MI account registration while setup, you could have tracked your phone.

Here are the steps that needs to be followed to track your lost/stolen phone:

Quelles sont les meilleures astuces que vous connaissez et que vous souhaitez partager?

  • Now login with the credentials that you created or used while setting up MI account on your phone.

  • After logging in you will find the following screen.

  • Now click on Find Device after which the next page will show the location of device, if the your device status is online. Otherwise it will show last updated location. It will also show the numbers activated/ sim inserted in your device.

  • If your device is showing offline (Because the thief or whoever has found the phone switches it off) then wait for few days. If it still do not shows as online, then do check the mobile no. of sims inserted in the devices.
  • There are 95% chances that whoever has the device, will insert his/her sim in the device after waiting for some days. And the device will send an activation sms to the MI server and will update the new number in MI cloud. Booom……..you will get the culprit.
  • This system is hard coded into device in such a way that even after factory resetting the device multiple times, the culprit will not be able to use the device without entering the password of the MI account which was used while initial setup.

True story this was how I nabbed the thief that stole my sister’s phone while travelling from home to her office.

After theft the device was switched off. But I kept patience and didn’t disabled/locked it through MI cloud to make it unusable for the thief.

Although I filed an FIR with police but we all know they do nothing.

So, on the 3rd day, the thief switched the device on after inserting his own sim card. But switched it off quickly after finding himself unable to pass beyond the login screen.

However he was careful enough to not switch on the data. But the devices security system had done it’s job beautifully and updated his no. on MI cloud.

When I got his number, I tried to call him but he didn’t picked up. Then after an hour so he called me to ask who is it.

I tried to confront him about the my device’s where about saying I got his number from Cyber Cell. On hearing this he disconnected the call and switched off the number.

I started my research for more details about him and added his number to whatsapp. There I found his DP in which he was holding a Gabbar Singh wali Rifle. After getting his DP, I searched him on Facebook using his number and got a confirm Identity.

He was living in a nearby area and was from UP. Eventually he was a student in a local college in our area. So I though may be he didn’t stole it but found it, but now is not in a mood to return because who would not love a 25000 bucks device as a freebie.

Next day, I left him a message on whatsapp calling him with his name and threatening him to either handover the phone or I will come to his college and it will become worse for him.

He called me in the evening and said that he was sorry and he just found the phone in the auto (My sis was travelling in shared auto), and he will return the device immediately. He also requested me not to come to his college or inform police or his life will be ruined.

Following morning, he returned the device to me and kept apologizing for his wrong deeds.

I spared him and didn’t reported the matter to the police and left him with a warning to be honest and never repeat such things again.

Merci

I call this the “ The Batman Trick”

Remember this classic scene from the Dark Knight Rises. Batman is thrown in a pit which is extremely difficult to climb. People had been stuck in the pit for years without getting out. To try to get out, they tie a rope around their waist and try to climb out of the pit. During the climb, there is a point when a jump needs to be made. This jump is extraordinarily difficult! The rope acts as a safety measure. Let's see how Batmanclimbs out of the pit:-

  1. With the rope:- He initially ties a rope around his waist like all others in the pit. But when he tries to make the jump,he fails! It's just too difficult!

2. Without the rope :- This is why you have to admire this guy! How can't you! He then decides that he will go without the rope. If he fails to make the climb, he dies. No one has done this before. There is no safety option now. It's do or die. This way, the fear sets in. He is compelled to give his best.

The result :- He succeeds! He climbs out of that pit.

Ce qui suit est la Batman Trick:-

Let us say you have a goal to achieve. If you have the mindset that “ If I don't achieve this , I have a backup option, I'll settle for that” :- you will never give your best, because you have a fallback option. If you remove the fallback option, the fear will set in. It will be do or die. You will be compelled to give your best! It is risky, agreed. But success doesn't come without risks!

Some practical examples of the Batman Trick:

  1. You want to get into an IIT. Forget that there exist any other colleges which you will definitely get into. Study as if there is nothing else in the world. Go all in.
  2. You want to get a job at your dream company. Don't apply to a bunch of similar companies just as your backup options. This way you will give your best whole heartedly to that one company. Your focus, dedication and determination will dramatically increase. Go all in.
  3. You want to do a start-up and become a billionaire. Quit the part time job you are doing. Let go of all the unnecessary back up plans you have! Let the fear of having no backup plan kick in. Go all in.
  4. This can be applied to a lot of other scenarios. You just have to relate your situation to it!

C'est tout!

Thanks for reading! Do comment if you have any views or suggestions.

PS: I see a lot of comments saying that this trick is a bit naive and it does not work in real life. It is hence practical for us to have a backup in case we fail in real life.

What I think is, with the approach that I have suggested, if you go all in, you only need to be only successful once! Even if you fail once or twice in a big way, you can bounce back by learning a lot the third time! However, when you taste success with this approach, it will be like nothing else! Your confidence and motivation levels will skyrocket! You will start believing more in yourself!

I dont think this as a trick. Instead we can consider it as suggestion.

People like to help poor people. There is a significant difference between helping and giving money and thats the suggestion here.

I have seen many individuals, groups, college students collects money and help needy. Like buying things they are selling..

Example Actor Varun Pruthi helping videos. He did help people by buying all the items from the poor sellers (bags, books, fruits etc..) Not just him many people are doing it.

Here the suggestion is when you buy something from poor sellers don't just waste it. Instead give the same to another poor who does not even have any way to live like beggars.

Me and my friend did it once without any intention or knowing what we were doing. We have seen one old poor woman who was approaching each and everyone to buy small fancy items(clips,pins,cotton,etc..). We felt very sad for her and bought all the items from her for 1500 and worth she said was 980. She was happy and she said she would go home early and would buy more items .

Few days Later we have given those items to one beggar who we used to see daily before the temple situated near to my friend house. We asked him whether he was interested in selling small items instead of begging. He said it would be great if we help him in that. We gave him those items. It's almost 3 months till now we did not see him begging again.

Only after giving the items to the guy we realized that we did help 2 people with the same amount.

The Same amount-1500 helped 2 people .

1 . Profit to the poor seller.

2. Investment for the poor man.

Thank you all for upvotes..

You find a good cheap flight the night before.

You go to bed smiling to yourself because all that labourous googling finally paid off, you will purchase the ticket tomorrow.

Next morning you awake to find that the price of the ticket has jumped by over $200.

Panic settles in. Your heart starts pounding. With cold feet and sweaty palms you clumsily type in your credit card number while regretting that sweet sleep you just had.

Has this ever been you? Well not anymore!

Solution

Wipe the breadcrumb trail (aka cookies — look up how to wipe cookies and do it).

Preferably switch to a browser not affiliated the world's largest advertising company (Google).

Find someone with mobile data, ask them to allow you to connect to their hotspot. Visit that same site again, the price is now what it was yesterday. Now you can buy your ticket.

Smile

Let me explain,

Most flight websites (including Google) will store your IP address when you visit their website. If you come back after a number of hours (usually determined by them), the price of the ticket for whatever desitinations you wanted to go to will be increased (for you — well whatever “you” means according to the information they have in the cookies). They store cookies which can be used to keep things like when you last visited the site, your timezone (for calculating time), what flights you looked at, their price, etc, etc.

By clearing cookies, and changing your IP address, you are now effectively “new” to the site therefore, they have no data to manipulate your buying choices.

There are many tips on flight booking as well as myths and legends about the best time to book your flight, etc, but I don't think I've seen many that integrate tips about IP address and cookies.

Hope this helps.

It's one of my personal frustrations that I am naturally terrible at remembering names. I place great value on truly connecting with other people, and I know one of the simplest ways you can make someone feel recognized is to remember and speak their name. Plus, let's face it, blanking on someone's name whom you've met before -- or worse, just been introduced to -- is borderline rude, and fully embarrassing.

Leggi:  What are some things that Amazon does that would surprise people?

How many of us have been there, awkwardly trying to get someone to repeat their name so we can make a proper introduction, or using all sorts of nonspecific phrases, "hey there!" to work around the issue. According to an article on Psychology Today, this issue just worsens with age, as nearly 85% of middle-aged and older adults forget names. (Not sure what my excuse was at age 25, but I do admit retrieval is getting harder.)

It’s understandable. When we meet someone, we have a lot to take in -- from their appearance, to the conversation, to other distractions happening around us. With our increasing reliance on the Internet as a substitute for flexing our memory, research indicates memorization of any kind is becoming a lost art.

Remembering names is important on so many levels. It makes people feel good to hear their name, and they pay greater attention. Des études montrent that hearing our name activates our brain, even when it's spoken in a noisy room. You may notice that influential leaders take care to use people's names, and even mention personal aspects that they share in common. This isn't by accident -- they know it matters and use it. We feel better when people remember us (and worse when they don't).

If you're like me though, and want to get better at name recognition, take heart. There are ways to dramatically increase your ability to catch names, and keep them top of mind. Here are some tricks I've learned that work. Try them for yourself:

1. Meet and repeat.

When you get someone’s name, don’t just nod and continue the conversation, try to plug the name into what you’re saying. For example, if the man in front of you says his name is Mark, say, “Hi, Mark, nice to meet you.” Or ask a question with his name at the end, “How long have you been working in IT, Mark?”

Use the name throughout the conversation, but sparingly, and not in an overly salesy or repetitive way. When you’re saying goodbye, make sure to use the name one last time while looking them in the face, and make an effort to commit it to memory.

2. Spell it out.

Psychiatrist and memory expert Dr. Gary Small suggère asking someone to spell his or her name, especially if it’s an unusual one. This technique can be helpful if you have a visual memory, as it creates a mental picture of the person’s name.

It may also be helpful to ask for a business card, and to glance at the person's name while you're talking to them. This creates greater alignment between the person and the visual name.

Finally, after meeting someone, the first moment that you get, put them into your contacts with a few pieces of information that will help you remember them. This may include their appearance, children's names, or interests

3. Associate.

Many experts suggest that you conjure a verbal game or image when you first hear a name. This could be an alliterative pattern involving something you know about the person, i.e. http://Forbes.com contributor Helen Coster donne the catchy example of “Joann from Jersey.” Or consider something about the person’s interests or job, i.e. Sarah's in sales, so Sarah Sells.

Vivian Giang cite this advice she learned from the Dale Carnegie training course, "Picture images that sound like a person's name — and combine it with other things you know about them. If you meet someone named Laura from Brazil, imagine her with a laurel wreath on her head swimming in the Amazon River.”

4. Faire des liens.

Another way association can be helpful is to make a connection between the person you’re talking to, and someone d'autre you know with the same name, i.e. Carrie, like my sister.

I received a life-changing tip that was a spin on this from a speaker who spoke to my Vistage group years ago. After meeting the 15 people in our group very briefly, he proceeded to go around the room and repeat each of our names perfectly. His trick? As you meet someone, consider a famous person (or famous to you) who shares their first name and looks somewhat like them, i.e. Ryan looks like Ryan Gosling (if you could be so lucky.) I've found that it can be harder to make the association, but once you do, it's locked in.

5. Choose to care.

Most psychologists and memory experts point out that one of the main reasons we forget someone’s name is that we’re not really focused on learning it in the first place. There’s too much else going on, and it's vying for our attention.

Author Keith Ferrazzi’s first piece of conseils for remembering names is to decide to care. "If you make a conscious decision that you are going to remember names,” he explains, “because you care about the people you meet, you will immediately become much better at doing it!”
